All Grades Kumite Course held by Sensei Blyth Baker (SC) & Guest Sensei Ben Fail (GKA)
Sensei Ben Fail (4th Dan) will primarily be focusing on Kumite during this course. Sensei Ben began his Karate journey in 1997 in Cramlington. After relocating to Scotland, he established the Glasgow Karate Academy (GKA) in 2007 and achieved his 4th Dan rank in 2013. Sensei Ben competed on the international Kumite circuit for several years before retiring in 2019. He passionately dedicates himself to deepening his understanding of Shotokan Karate, continually pursuing his own development as well as that of every karate-ka he is fortunate enough to teach.

Alongside these Performance coaching sessions, Sensei Frank Veselovsky will host the Referee & Judges Seminar for Referees, Judges, Trainee officials, Recorder/Timekeepers, Coaches and Shōtōkan Connect members who wish to take their Karate career into a new direction.

Please note that those wishing to attend the Referees & Judges Seminars, this is run at the same time as the kata and kumite sessions, so attendees can't attend both. you will need to wear official uniform as set out in the Shōtōkan Connect Tournament Rules. This is comprised of:
As part of our efforts to maintain the quality and cleanliness of our tatami, we kindly request that all Referees & Judges course attendees wear black, soft (think, low tread) sole shoes. Please note that these shoes are to be worn exclusively indoors and should never be worn outdoors. This is essential to prevent any potential damage to the tatami surface. Alternatively you may go barefoot whilst on the tatami.
Please note that the Referees & Judges Seminar portion of this event does not count towards the three course requirement for Karateka that have joined from another association and are looking to ratify their 3rd DAN or above grading qualification.
