Sensei's Ian Willis (7th Dan) & Phil Winterbourne (5th Dan) host a two session 'Performance & Competition' standards for Kumite and Kata coaching course
Alongside these Performance coaching sessions, Sensei Frank Veselovsky (5th Dan) will host the Referee & Judges Seminar for Referees, Judges, Trainee officials, Recorder/Timekeepers, Coaches and Shōtōkan Connect members who wish to take their Karate career into a new direction.

Kihapp Trial – Registration Required
This event will also serve as a trial run of the Kihapp competition management system. To support this, we kindly ask Club Instructors to register their participating students directly in Kihapp by the registration deadline.
There is no charge for student registration in Kihapp.
Note, you will still need to book the session(s) you wish to attend for this event.

Preliminary Table of Events:
10:00 - 10:30: Registration
10:30 - 11:30: Kumite training & Referees/Judges theory on Kumite
11:30 - 12:00: Kumite practice on 2 areas with Referess & Judges
12:00 - 12:15: Break
12:15 - 13:15: Kata training & Referees/Judges theory on Kata
13:15 - 14:00: Kata practice on 2 areas with Referees & Judges
14:00 - 14:30: Discussion/End of Course
Please note that those wishing to attend the Referees & Judges Seminars, this is run at the same time as the kata and kumite sessions, so attendees can't attend both. you will need to wear official uniform as set out in the Shōtōkan Connect Tournament Rules. This is comprised of:
- A navy-blue blazer (where possible)
- A Shōtōkan Connect badge (if available)
- A white shirt
- A Shōtōkan Connect tie (if available)
- Grey trousers
- Black socks covering 2/3rd of the shin
- Black, soft (thin, low tread) sole shoes
As part of our efforts to maintain the quality and cleanliness of our tatami, we kindly request that all Referees & Judges course attendees wear black, soft (think, low tread) sole shoes. Please note that these shoes are to be worn exclusively indoors and should never be worn outdoors. This is essential to prevent any potential damage to the tatami surface. Alternatively you may go barefoot whilst on the tatami.
Please note that the Referees & Judges Seminar portion of this event does not count towards the three course requirement for Karateka that have joined from another association and are looking to ratify their 3rd DAN or above grading qualification.
